Clicker Training Review

Clicker Training Review

Would you like to Become a Super Trainer?

I was privy to a disturbing event one evening when I was walking our family dog Rigby off leash. He was enjoying galavanting with several other dogs, a couple of labs and a border. Rigby adores the water, and I mean absolutely one-eyed, as were the other dogs, the only problem was, their master didn’t want them jump in as well…. You can imagine what came to pass, the gang were in the water and loving it!

Their master tried calling them out and when they decided to return, to my shock… they got belted, after that the dogs kept a clear distance from their boss, and who would be suprised. Rigby on the other hand came and sat beside me watching. At the time he was still just a pup, so why was he happy to obey?

We had been using Clicker Training by then for a couple of months and though far from perfect, Rigby’s grasp was very clear and he knew that if he did the right thing, he would benefit. We still see the others on the odd occasion but their master still hasn’t got it!

‘The 4 Secrets of Becoming a Supertrainer’ introduced us to using Clicker training, we found this extraordinary book is the best and most authoritative work on the Clicker Training technique. It’s authority has also been recognized by other animal training institutions:

It is mandatory reading for Guide Dog for the Blind Instructors in California

It is used for training Search & Rescue Dogs and Military Patrol Dogs

Clicker Training is employed in training marine Mammals

An increasing number of Dog Trainers use it for Corrective Behavior Training

But this guide is not written for professional trainers, it is a wonderful manual for anyone who would be proud to have a well educated dog; one that is the envy of other dog owners.

The creators of  ‘The 4 Secrets of Becoming a Supertrainer’ have been highly regarded dog trainers for over 13 years, so this is not the work of a theorist, it is established on well researched practices and never uses any sort of admonishment.

The instructions are easy to interpret, well laid out and you will quickly pick up the natural progression of the training routines. The experienced trainers will also find a good selection of ideas they can integrate into their training exercises.

I doesn’t  matter whether you own a dog, cat, horse or guinea pig, they will all respond to clicker training, you will be amazed how you can adapt the instructions to your own training challenge.
